We believe that every young person who learns to play and sing with us is a DMS Star from the very beginning. Our (inclusive) approach to learning is all about progress through fun and engagement. Our DMS Star learning framework celebrates our young musicians as they progress through primary school and gives everyone the skills and experience for a lifelong enjoyment of playing and singing.

When you join DMS you will receive

• Specialist face-to-face lessons in groups during school time with a Durham Music Service Teacher.
• Online support with access to a wide range of resources to extend your child’s learning at home.
• Fully subsidised access to a range of Music Groups across both Durham and Darlington.
• Certificates of Achievement: Our DMS Star framework enables all students to achieve termly certificates throughout their primary school years.
• Access external examinations.
• Opportunities to celebrate music-making in performances and workshops.

Durham Music Service offers small group lessons in schools across County Durham and Darlington.*

• There is usually a charge for our lessons. Before you sign up, make sure you read about How Lessons Work and about Prices

• We will get in touch to arrange the first lesson.*

There is usually a termly charge for lessons. Lessons may be free for some children and there are also ways to help you spread the cost of lessons.
