When your child has been playing or singing for approximately a year (this could be a little less or more time) it’s a great time to make music with others in a music group.
Durham Music Service has a wide range of DMS Star Groups for many different instruments and singers that introduce young musicians to playing together in a fun and inclusive way. Durham Music Groups regularly perform so it’s a great way for family and friends to share your child’s musical success.
There is no additional cost to joining one of our groups. All you need to do is browse our groups to find one near you.

Playing in a band is a fun way to improve musical skills and give a first taste of performing alongside other children at the start of their musical journey.
