Katie Hibbard has worked for Durham Music Service since 2006 as an Upper Strings teacher. She has been given opportunities to develop her skills in other areas such as conducting and leading choirs and is now Lead Practitioner developing the Singing Strategy for County Durham. Katie studied for 3 years at the University of Huddersfield studying Performance as a violinist and then went on to study as a post graduate at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester for two years. She left with PGCE With Specialist Strings Teaching which included training in Dalcroze Eurhythmics and Kodaly which has influenced all areas of her teaching. Katie plays in several local orchestras and directs several choirs including school choirs and the 50+strong Community Choir called ‘Vocal Collective’.
